Emotional Dysregulation

We ALL have the innate capacity to heal.

 

In today’s world, symptoms of stress such as anxiety, fear, disconnection, anger and depression are common. Healing is bringing back into alignment those parts of ourselves that are disconnected. Disconnection happens as difficulties/challenges creates a split in the body, emotions and mental functions as well as in our relational capacity. The resulting disconnection inhibits the flow within the nervous system, rendering us unable to respond to life with our full potential.

 

Somatic Experiencing®  is a gentle, mind-body oriented approach to healing emotional dysregulation in our body. We listen to sensations and emotions as

the language of the nervous system. The body becomes a resource for healing.

 

Disconnection is not always easy to recognize.

It shows up in the body as physical sensations that manifest themselves as stress, anxiety, depression, tension and physical pain.

 

Many of us have been impacted by stresses of one kind or another, and do not realize how much it’s affecting our daily life, our family and our health. It can stem from long-term stress, or from the many issues of a difficult childhood. We may experience an undercurrent of unhappiness or uneasiness or, more subtly, simply not fully comfortable in our body or our self. We can feel stuck, even trapped, dealing with anxiety and stress. We might find ourselves at times overwhelmed, and daily life seems more and more difficult. Emotions and reactions spiral out of control, affecting relationships or careers. It becomes hard to concentrate and truly enjoy life. We may feel lost, and ungrounded. These are all signs and symptoms of emotional dysregulation.

Through my individualized approach using Somatic Experiencing®  (SE), a gentle and practical mind/body method to healing emotional dysregulation, you can finally put your that behind you where it belongs.

 

This requires time, space and attuning to the unique rhythm of each individual

nervous system. Awareness and relational presence facilitate the coherence of sensation, emotion and thought pattern. The energy trapped in the dysregulated pattern can then be released into the central nervous system leading to feeling more connected to life.
